Tango Connivence was founded in 1997 to promote
Argentine tango in Sherbrooke* and the Eastern
Townships of Quebec. (connivence means complicity)

Since its inception the school has been offering on a regular basis classes for all levels. Special workshops by guest instructors are scheduled from time-to-time and private or semi-private classes are available.

Tango Connivence sponsors a variety of activities that puts it at the centre of the Eastern Townships network of tango enthusiasts:

    -weekly practicas (Thursday evenings),
-monthly milongas (first Sunday of each month),
    -seasonal balls,
    -outdoor summer milongas,
    -public tango demonstrations,

André Carrière is the founder and main instructor of Tango Connivence. He was the first to bring argentine tango to Sherbrooke and he has thus far introduced more than one-thousand individuals to this fascinating dance. His innovative approach to teaching tango creates conditions that help students enjoy rapidly the pleasure
of improvising and surrendering to the music.

All venues of Tango Connivence benefit from André's longtime experience as a DJ. He has been regularly invited by the Sherbrooke radio station CFLX-FM to produce and host programs featuring tango music.

André has been a guest instructor or invited DJ in Montreal (Academy, Al Sur, Tango Nuestro), Quebec City (A.T.A.R.Q.), Toronto (Tango Soul), Halifax (East Coast Tango Society, Mount Saint Vincent University, Tangonova) and Venice, Italy (Tango Zen).
